EPITAPH ON ROBERT MUIR
Robert Muir, a Kilmarnock wine-merchant was a great friend and practical supporter of Robert Burns in both personal and business matters. He died at the age of thirty.
“What man could esteem, or what woman could love,
Was he who lies under this sod:
If such Thou refuses admission above,
Then whom wilt Thou favour, Good God?”
